He has been having series of meetings since morning at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja.

Among those he met were leaders of registered political parties.

He also met members of the civil society groups.

He is presently meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners.

Our correspondent learnt that after the security agencies gave their reports that it would be better to shift the elections, Jega was left with no option than to agree to a postponement of the elections.

It was gathered that INEC would announce March 28 and April 11, 2015 as the new dates for the elections.
